Abstract. The article examines the potential of the artistic word as a method of artistic and aesthetic education in a preschool institution. The article notes the significance of folk tales as a method of teaching and upbringing, the aesthetic, cultural and psychological significance of fairy tales and the pedagogical technology of using the artistic word as a means of teaching and upbringing. The article examines the organization of artistic activity, which makes it possible to reveal the meaning and potential of national fiction, using the example of preschool institutions in the Komi Republic.
