Abstract. The authors emphasize that the ability to build a model vision of society and the processes occurring in it is the main thing in the work of any sociologist, the main thing that distinguishes sociology from other social sciences.

The subject of discussion of this article was the most actively discussed recently problem of the correlation of general scientific, general professional and professional components in sociological education. It is particularly emphasized: the prevalence of at least one of the components is detrimental to the qualifications of graduates of sociological universities and faculties. Currently, its clear principle, reflected in professional competencies, is the value of the ability to conduct research and present results. However, neither the quality of the results, which is related to their truth, nor the methodology as a means to ensure this is indicated. This means that the question remains open of how the use of diverse new methods in the preparation of a sociologist is connected with the formation of scientific sociological facts. Therefore, the authors express their point of view on the nature of a sociological fact, its functions, the conditions of its truth, and raise the question of the importance of the problem of transforming primary sociological information obtained through the latest sociological methods into scientific facts. It is necessary to overcome the “techno-technical-methodical approach” as one of the dominants of sociological education, as well as the corresponding stereotype of the attitude of the students themselves to the knowledge of sociological research methods. It emphasizes the degree of objective truth of a sociological fact depends on how the sociologist fulfills and implements the requirements of three levels of substantiation: philosophical-methodological, special-methodological, and instrumental-methodological.

Keywords: sociological education; the latest methods of sociological research; primary sociological information; scientific sociological fact; the truth of scientific sociological facts
