Abstract. The article analyzes the manifestation of wisdom in the wit of musicians and artists on the samples of biographical anecdotes (texts with a high concentration of humor by definition) of great musicians and artists. Analyzing the manifestations of wisdom as a spiritual universe, we will determine the conceptual idea that will allow us to consider wisdom in the context of humorous texts. Humor is a generalized reflection of reality, an ideal form, expressed at the level of meanings that do not belong to the subject itself, but Express the attitude of the subject to the meaning of language statements, related texts, images of consciousness, mental States and actions.

The research method used was content analysis of anecdotes, curiosities, stories (biographical anecdotes) from the life of famous artists and musicians. The semantic units of the analysis were distinguished for a number of reasons: a sense of humor and 12 techniques of wit (classification of A.N. Luka).

Two samples contain the names of great and domestic musicians and artists. The following data are obtained: the sense of humor is noted in biographical anecdotes by musicians more often than by artists. Musicians and artists are equal in the number of methods of wit, using nine techniques, let us list them in a strand of decreasing frequency: irony, hint, metaphor, false opposition and double interpretation, mixing styles or «combining plans», bringing to the absurd, paradox. Not reflected in the sample used such techniques as: wit absurdity, comparison, repetition. Thus. it should be noted that the specifics of the creative process explains the excess of the number of units of use of wit techniques, the use of which is recorded in biographical anecdotes about musicians and artists. Debatable is the question of referring to the concept of «wisdom», the maxims set out in the form of wit «irony» in the form of sarcasm.
