Abstract. The communicative processes in dance culture are considered in the study within the framework of a semiotic approach, the author emphasizes the importance of several types of information encoding in dance. Similarly to the structural components identified in natural languages, communicative codes in dance culture are defined. Taking into account the specifics of the communicative act in art, and, in particular, in dance, the goals of artistic communication in dance are defined. The goals of artistic communication in dance are defined, such as: the transmission of aesthetic information; direct communication; self-expression or self-disclosure of the communicator; prompting to action; adaptation, transmission and mastering of the cultural code. Based on this criterion, the dominance of different types of coding in various dance forms and practices is shown. The relevance of the work is due to the rapid development of technologies in the field of audiovisual communications, the speed and volume of information transmission, the development of neural networks that create artistic texts in various areas of art, including dance, as well as the emergence of new dance forms and practices with a predominance of communicative functionality.
Summarizing the provisions of research in the field of symbolic and communicative characteristics of dance, the author determines that within the framework of dance communication, three forms of information encoding are involved in the transmission of a message, allowing to fully convey the semantic aspects of such messages. Thus, semantic coding, kinesthetic and emotional-figurative coding convey a variety of semantic characteristics of a dance message, both in the process of perceiving performances or choreographic productions, and during indirect or direct interactive interaction in pair or group dances.
