Abstract. The problem of studying the first literary texts in the context of genre transformations is one of the significant problems of philological research. The relevance of this article is due to modern approaches to the study of the Yakut language as an integral system consisting of multi-level means of expression, and as a processed form of the national national language, characterized by fixed norms. This study is based on a functional-semantic approach to the study of language phenomena, according to which the holistic organization of universal semantic categories is represented by their specific content and means of expression. The purpose of this article is to study verbs of being in Yakut poetic works of the algys (blessing) genre by A.E. Kulakovsky — the first Yakut poet, founder of Yakut literature, educator and scientist. To achieve this goal, the composition of verbs with the semantics of being has been identified, and the meaning of these verbs has been established, taking into account their contextual use, associated with their text-forming function in the organization of the considered poetic works. In the reviewed poetic works, verbs of being were found, namely: verbs indicating the initial phase of being, existence (verbs of causation of the beginning of existence; verbs of the beginning of existence, events, actions) and verbs of existence (verbs of being). The study used a continuous sampling method when forming material from text and lexicographic sources, a descriptive method with elements of statistical analysis, and a glossing method to present illustrative material. The article is the first to analyze the verbs of being set out in these poetic works, in accordance with the principles of functional-semantic analysis.
