The profession of an insolvency practitioner through the eyes of students: the experience of a sociological study

Abstract. The article analyzes the professional activities of insolvency practitioners. The features of the institution of bankruptcy in modern Russia, social status characteristics and difficulties that arise in the implementation of the activities of insolvency practitioners are considered. As part of the study. a sociological survey «The profession of an insolvency practitioner through the eyes of students» was conducted, in which 187 students of various specialties of law faculties of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education «National Research Mordovian State University named after N.P. Ogarev» (hereinafter referred to as MSU named after N.P. Ogarev) and the Middle Volga Institute (branch) VSUJU (RPA of the Ministry of Justice of Russia) (hereinafter referred to as RPA). The purpose of the study was to identify the level of knowledge about the profession of an insolvency practitioner and determine the degree of prestige of this profession. It was revealed that the students of both universities are quite familiar with the situation in the field of bankruptcy. At the same time, more than half of the students (60 %) did not express a desire to study the institution of insolvency (bankruptcy) in depth. The article discusses the factors that influenced the position of respondents regarding the profession of an insolvency manager.
