Abstract. The article analyzes the facts of penetration and usage of foreign language inclusions in modern Russian, and also describes the degree of immersion inclusion of borrowings in the lexical field from the point of view of their functionality. The frequency of usage of semantically undeveloped and partially developed loanwords that penetrate into the modern Russian language indicates the relevance of issues of purity, clarity and the need to regulate this process. Foreign inclusions are a phenomenon that threatens the linguistic and cultural situation of the native language in the pursuit of imaginary and imposed internationality and the international standards of communication or expressive and stylistic originality, as well as prestige and novelty. The work is based on the material of written and oral speech of different genres in official-business, journalistic and artistic styles. Studying texts of different styles shows different degree of development of foreign language inclusions, a significant number of them, that leads to certain doubts about their relevance in particular contexts. In some cases, without a reasonable and sufficient pragmatic orientation, foreign language inclusions overload and clog the Russian literary language.

Foreign language inclusions, both transliterated and non-transliterated, enter the language in an effort to fill in the terminological gaps of concepts that are not present in the language. Foreign language inclusions are used in a specific speech practice, not limited to a specific style marking or content of the message. In addition to the naming function and the desire to increase the synonymic number of designations of concepts, there is such an effect of their usage as prestige or fashion, manifested in the orientation to the European communicative model of speech.
