Abstract. The article discusses one of the pressing issues related to the teaching of a foreign language in terms of the use of written discourse. The aim of the study is to identify the features of a foreign language in writing, how accurately students formulate their thoughts when interpreting into a foreign language, taking into account special terminology. Writing in a foreign language is the basis for the study of medical terms. These terms are studied in medical special educational organization from the first year, and therefore there is a study of special words from scratch. Students have to spend more time studying medical terminology. Scientific novelty lies in the use of the work of medical students of medical special educational organization. The specifics of a medical institution are also taken into account, since the main subjects are directly related to medicine, then the foreign language itself is a reflection of medical topics. A small study of this kind will make it possible to judge the preparation of a student by two vectors at once: medicine and a foreign language. The results of the study will be able to influence the further selection of special texts when working in a medical environment. It also plays an applied role in learning a foreign language, as a particular language layer is being studied. Moreover, the written aspect of translation is the basis of medical educational discourse for students of different courses. From the point of view of spoken language, certain barriers appear, which are also surmountable provided that the student is well versed in the language material, taking into account its specifics.
