Abstract. The article discusses the possibilities and advantages of using modern fiction based on Russian rock-poetry during the teaching the Russian language as part of its teaching as a foreign language. The specificity is in the fact that a modern text is formed using different aesthetic codes — to study the linguodidactics potential of such a text, it is necessary to involve the methodology of an intermediate approach. At the same time, it should be said that these polycode works are quite popular among potential students. We are talking, in particular, about the rock poetry of Viktor Tsoi, which presents a fairly rich material for the linguodidactics. Various aspects are analyzed: axiological, regional and linguistic. The article offers a number of examples of exercises for working with polycode text based on the material of certain songs and the textbook as a whole. The peculiarity of the song genre makes it possible to influence the student at several levels at once: phonetic, lexical and syntactic. In this case, the Russian language is perceived both audibly, visually, and verbally, i.e., within the framework of an intermediate structure. Different channels of information transmission contribute to the efficiency of language units’ assimilation. At the same time, the value component of the language and Russian culture is being studied. Students develop communication skills in various language fields, get acquainted with the modern artistic culture and subculture of Russia through the realities mentioned by the rock poet in the texts. In the classroom, the use of polycode texts contributes to the formation of the necessary psychological climate, which also opens the way for the success of students. Learning the Russian language on the material of polycode texts is an effective method of teaching.
