Abstract. The material below is the next in a series of articles devoted to the problems of developing and improving the professionally applied section of physical culture taught in civil and military universities of the Russian Federation.

The relevance of the stated research topic lies in the need to resolve the contradiction between sports modeling and production (military-combat, operational-service and civil labor) functionality without destroying the very educational and educational discipline «basic physical culture».

The aim of the study is to find a systematic solution to this problem through the use of methods and means of martial arts and martial arts, as a field of social practice, in different historical periods and in different geographical regions, very far from Western sports or, in extreme cases, primary in relation to sports-species modeling.

The methodology and organization of the study are determined by the appeal to the cultural tradition of the implementation of the systemic psychophysical practice of martial arts and martial arts, as a socio-cultural tradition, originally an alternative to the practice of Western sports.

Findings. The practice of introducing the model of the professionally applied section of basic physical culture described above, developed on the basis of the system of combat (applied) movement, differs for the better from any sportized model, primarily in that it is simple, accessible, applicable to a completely different contingent, does not require special equipped material and technical base, is implemented within one, maximum two academic semesters.
