Abstract. The analysis of interrelations between culture as a system and education as its component is made in the article. The existence of both phenomena is socially determined, as the subjects of their influence are society in general and individuals in particular. Culture and education possess common values to which they themselves and a person as their bearer belong. Values of culture and education are expressed in fulfilling their common aims and functions connected with the idea of development, as culture acts as all the above-biological created by man and transforming him and the surrounding world and education due to its universal character is an optimal means for these transformations. Education performs the functions of reproduction, preservation and generation of culture and it influences the formation of cultural identity as well as mentality and worldview of individual and collective subjects. The essence of identification is attachment to the definite culture and separation from other cultural integrities. Mentality is regarded as view of the world and taking a system of attitudes to it. A worldview is a generalized image of the world serving as a certain coordinate system in human activities. Besides, education undergoes the influence of different cultures, the scale of which varies from the level of an organization to the global level. The characteristics of organizational, corporate, ethnical, regional, national and global cultures, the impact of which is reflected in the educational system, are presented. On the whole, culture and education are conditions, factors and products of mutual development.
