On the problem of the philosophical foundations of cultural cognition

Abstract. In the article, the author defines the importance of studying the philosophical foundations of cultural knowledge as one of the important and key tasks of modern science. The main problem of the article is formulated as the definition of the role of the relationship of cultural knowledge with the philosophy of culture, which is the theoretical part of cultural studies. In the course of the study, by a theoretical method, including elements of empirical analysis, the author analyzed the relationship of cultural knowledge with other scientific disciplines and their influence on each other. This fact led to the conclusion that knowledge of cultural cognition can and should be used to analyze the essence of the processes and phenomena under study, as well as to identify the deepest processes and their inherent basic laws. The author suggested a possible algorithm for considering culturological knowledge in the aspect of the philosophy of culture. Based on the foundations of the theory of knowledge and the philosophy of science, the process of cognition is presented from the representation of images, from a cognitive metaphor that defines the outline of future research within the framework of scientific methods of cognition. In the course of the study, the author makes a number of conclusions, one of which is that culturological knowledge has a number of ways of theoretical expression of the subject, taking shape in the general course of epistemological and methodological searches for philosophical knowledge and has boundaries with the theory of knowledge, philosophy of science, and also correlates with scientific paradigms, with types of rationality and scientific programs. The particular importance of this study lies in the fact that the author presents a variant of systematization of knowledge about cultural knowledge in the philosophical aspect, which has a whole set of different methods of theoretical presentation.
