University corporate culture in the assessment of the pedagogical community: sociological analysis

Abstract. The article presents the results of a sociological study devoted to the actual problem of today: the formation and development of the corporate culture of a higher educational institution. The author notes the leading role of the university as a social institution, one of the main functions of which is axiological, substantiates the priority of transforming the corporate culture of the university in accordance with the changing conditions of the external environment, the processes of globalization, the active introduction of information technologies into the educational process, the development of interactive forms of communication between the teacher and the student. Using the method of a questionnaire survey, the problem field was analyzed, including the main elements of the corporate culture of the university and the strategic directions of its development. The empirical basis of the study was the data of a survey conducted among the members of the faculty of the Tyumen Industrial University. The data obtained in the course of the sociological study made it possible to conclude about the leading role of corporate culture in the formation of a favorable psychological climate, an increase in the level of satisfaction of members of the teaching community from their professional activities. The survey made it possible to identify the relationship between the level of development of the corporate culture of the university and the prevailing style of management, to establish the priority value orientations of the teaching staff and the possibility of identifying the teacher with the university corporation. It is advisable to use the results of the sociological research presented in order to correct the weaknesses and directions of the university’s activities in the field of implementing corporate culture and increasing the level of loyalty of the teaching staff of the university corporation, which, as a result, will have a positive effect on gaining additional competitive advantages for the university in the educational services market.
