Abstract. The authors examined the problems of the influence of quality leadership leaders on employee motivation. The activity of this topic is due to the fact that the leader must begin to take up his duties. On the other hand, there is an understanding that the staff and poor motivation to work are largely explained by poor management. The purpose of the research is to show the relationship of leadership qualities and the style of personnel management with their interest in work. The study involved employees of three sales departments (20 people) and managers (managers) of the lower level (3 people) of commercial organizations. As part of the work, data were monitored for the current year, the period from 2018 to 2019. Studies have been conducted on observations and conducting interviews with them. Their management styles and certain differences were also identified on the basis of the typologies of K. Levin, Hersey-Blancher and Blake-Mouton. Diagnostics of L. Zhuravlev was carried out, which gave a scientific substantiation of the results obtained in the course of observations. In the framework of the work, information on staff turnover in the studied units was analyzed and the staff turnover rate for 2017–2019 was revealed, which made it possible to establish a correspondence between the leadership style of managers and the interest, motivation of employees of the studied departments. In the course of work, the results of intra-organizational employee surveys were used. Based on the results of the study, data are presented and conclusions are drawn about the existing relationship between the leadership qualities of a leader and the motivation of employees, their interest in performing work duties.
