Abstract. This article examines the features of verbalization of the linguistic and cultural image of Russia in modern English-language media text. The relevance of the linguoculturological study of the modern image of Russia is characteristic of linguistics, cognitive linguistics and linguoculturology, since these studies are aimed at studying the image formed by the media using certain linguistic means in order to influence the audience. The purpose of the study is to consider and analyze the linguistic units and linguistic means involved in the verbalization of the linguistic and cultural image of Russia in modern British and American media texts. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that it explores a new, modern image of Russia and its linguistic and cultural features, constructed by the British and American media in the period from 2016 to 2023. The research is based on the material of modern British and American articles published on the news sites The New York Times, The Guardian, CNN, The Economist, Fox News, The Washington Post from 2016 to 2023. The research methods are determined by the goal: the author used the largest corpus analysis method (the corpus of news texts NOW — News on the web was used. Using the continuous sampling method, the author selected examples of lexemes contained in media texts published from 2016 to 2023, participating in verbalization of the evaluative and associative components of the image of Russia. Discourse analysis of lexical units made it possible to compare the frequency of use of lexemes and identify the most frequent ones for modern English-language media text. Linguocultural analysis of the concept frame of the image of Russia in media texts was carried out at the lexical-semantic level. As a result of the study, the most frequently occurring subframes of the linguocultural image of Russia in modern English-language media texts were identified, as well as lexical and stylistic means, mainly used by the media to construct a negative image of Russia.
