Abstract. The article presents a historical and modern approach to the concepts of health and a healthy lifestyle. By a healthy lifestyle, experts understand the integration of forms and methods of daily healthy human life, the basis of which is value norms and rules that strengthen the capabilities of the human body, its spirit and will. A healthy lifestyle contributes to the harmonious development of the individual, promotes the preservation and strengthening of health, promotes high productivity in educational and labor activities, ensures the disclosure of the moral qualities of the individual necessary for the development of society.

The modern trends of a healthy lifestyle of students are highlighted. It has been determined: a healthy lifestyle sets young people up to the fact that they themselves are the creators of their future and the physical state in which they will meet him depends on his lifestyle in his younger years. Analysis of the study showed that the percentage of those leading a healthy lifestyle decreases in groups from 17 to 20 years old, and then gradually increases from 21 to 25 years and older.

The results obtained allow us to formulate the following conclusions: directions for the formation of a healthy lifestyle of young people should be implemented in at least two strategies: one will be aimed at strengthening a rational approach to one’s health, i.e. the target audience of this direction is a youth group leading a healthy lifestyle, and the second — to the widespread promotion of a healthy lifestyle without bad habits, combined with physical activity among those who do not lead a healthy lifestyle and who are undecided.
