Synthesis as a manifestation of cultural diffusion in modern Russian author’s jewelry art

Abstract. Introduction. The article is devoted to the study of cultural diffusion and its manifestations in modern Russian author’s jewelry art. The purpose of this article is to study the main culturological approaches and the application of the theory of cultural diffusions in the problem field of culturology. Diffusion should be considered one of the most important mechanisms of culture. It is an objective regularity. Currently, cultural diffusion is total.

Methods. The methodological basis of the research is the principle of an integrated approach. The main general scientific methods were used: the method of induction, based on the analysis of the artistic qualities of specific works and aimed at creating a holistic picture; the systematic typological method, which allowed analyzing the activities of communities and individual authors as a systemic whole and identifying typological features; the culturological method, which allowed considering jewelry art as part of the general system of culture.

Results. The author analyzed the processes of cultural diffusion, including the diffusion of innovations, expressed in the desire of the arts to synthesis, revealed that they contribute to the emergence of new forms of art, new types within each of the arts. The current trends in jewelry art as a marker of diffusion and mutual penetration of cultural forms are revealed; it is revealed that synthesis is an essential manifestation of the cultural diffusion of innovations.

Discussion. The theoretical significance of the research lies in the introduction into scientific circulation of materials on jewelry art as a marker of cultural diffusion, consideration of this problem in a new perspective, which makes it possible to expand and deepen existing cultural knowledge.

Final report. Quite a lot of art history studies have been devoted to the problems of jewelry art, jewelry art has not been the object of cultural research until this study, which indicates the relevance of this study. The scientific novelty of the study also lies in the following:

the role and place of cultural diffusions in jewelry art is revealed;

current trends and reference scientific and historical points in relation to jewelry art as a marker of diffusion have been identified;

the presence of correlations of technical and technological borrowing with diffuse cultural processes has been established.

Modern author’s jewelry art, as a junction of fashionable trends on the one hand, and traditional approaches and technological innovations on the other, is of undoubted interest for further cultural studies.
