Abstract. The article analyzes the experience of conducting a sociological experiment in the organization of training for prisoners in USA prisons. The article examines general issues of the tasks of organizing training as a factor in the educational activities of the prison administration. The article states the relevance of the organization of training in the penitentiary system. The results of the secondary interpretation of the results of sociological research allows us to conclude that the processes of organizing training are highly important for prisoners, both at the level of the school curriculum and vocational training. Most of the respondents, among the prisoners, emphasize the importance of education as part of a correctional program, future social adaptation.

The article analyzes the positive factors of the influence of educational programs on prisoners who have used educational services. Interpreting the results of a study conducted in US prisons shows a high social demand for education. The study demonstrates a growing interest in prisoners’ studies, a desire for a deeper study of academic disciplines. Prisoners demonstrate not only motivation and desire to learn, but also demonstrate a high potential for correcting deviant behavior based on learning outcomes. The results of the study demonstrate a high level of subsequent socialization of prisoners who have completed educational courses.
