Abstract. The article discusses the features of conducting online contests in the visual arts for schoolchildren. The perception and presentation of a creative product in online form (photography, video or audio clip) require a special approach to the formation of criteria for assessing children’s drawing. Online contests solve a number of problems associated with adolescent and youthful fears, such as fear of public speaking, fear of hearing the opinion of the jury, etc. However, such contests conceal certain risks associated with the honesty of the contestants, technical problems, the inability to always correctly assess the potential of the participant, etc. The author draws attention to the most common shortcomings in the electronic presentation of children’s drawings, related to technical rather than creative flaws. Based on the study of errors in the online presentation of creative works of schoolchildren, conclusions were drawn about the need to develop a special assessment of children’s drawings in online contests. The author suggests the main components that need to be included in methodological recommendations for organizers and participants of the competition, such as conducting training seminars on the preparation of creative works for children and youth for online contests, attracting teachers to trainings in photography and video shooting, pedagogical support for participants in online contests, psychological support participants of online contests.
