Linguocultural interpretation of concept interaction in the discourse of sympathy

Abstract. The aim of the article is to describe the discourse interaction of the concepts sympathie, erfolg и fleiss in the German mass-media texts. The subject of the work are linguistic means which represent the concepts sympathie, erfolg и fleiss. The basic concept sympathie is surrounded by a positive mental space which is focused on the lexem Sympathie and its components. They mean either feeling or attitude сomprising the ontological being of sympathy as well as integral parts: object of the feeling or attitude and positive assessment.
In the article the discourse functioning of the lexem Sympathie was observed which revealed that discourse of sympathy as a mean of actualization of theconcept sympathie is a habitat for the concepts erfolg и fleiss as well. That was proven with the help of two methods used: analysis of word definition in the first case and the linguocultural analysis in the latter one.
The novelty presented in the article includes using the two above mentioned methods of investigation to explain interaction of those concepts. The study conducted displays that discourse of sympathy acts as a overspace for interaction of concepts sympathie, erfolg и fleiss in the German mass-media texts comprising all the fields of human life by positive assessment or positive opinion.
