The selection of Russian zooanthroponymicon was carried out among the population of Gorodovikovsky, Priyutnensky, Sarpinsky and Yashaltinsky regions, where prevails the Russian population. Russian and Kalmyk zooanthroponims are considered separately.
There is there is an attempt to present zooanthroponymic paradigm associated with the “hierarchy” of wild and domestic animals among The Russians and Kalmyks living on the territory of the Republic of Kalmykia. The analysis of the revealed material allows us to draw the following conclusions: among the names there are many borrowed words which came with the Christianity among the surnames there are many surnames having components of “birds”. In Kalmyk zooanthroponimicon there are words which have zoocomponent “animal” and “a bird of prey”. Among the surnames those are the most productive which are formed from gender, age and color differentiations of domestic animals and those which have a component of “parts the animal’s body”. The feature of Kalmyk anthroponimy is associated with the prohibition for the daughter-in-low to pronounce the names of the older relatives of husband by their first names — “hadamnalgan”.
There is an attempt to explain the origin of many Kalmyk surnames from the taboo words in the article such as differences are explained by the differences in traditional farming and many features connecting with the traditions and religious affiliation of peoples.
