Approach to the study of the quality of working life in the organization of higher education

Abstract. Today, there are active discussions in the scientific community about what characteristics and parameters determine the quality of working life. Russian scientists are actively working on the development of indicators that affect the quality of working life.

The article presents the author’s approach to identifying indicators that affect the quality of working life at the organization level: «management of the organization»; «regulation of spheres of professional activity»; «socio-psychological climate»; «job satisfaction»; «salary»; «working conditions»; «opportunity for staff development and self-improvement»; «assessment of personnel work»; «the ratio of working and free time»; «the impact of labor activity on the health of personnel»; «social guarantees».

To test this approach to identify indicators that affect the quality of the working life of personnel, as well as the factors that form these indicators, we conducted an empirical study using a survey method in the form of a questionnaire. on the basis of the federal state budgetary educational institution of higher education in the city of Novosibirsk.

The purpose of the study: to identify indicators that positively and negatively affect the quality of the working life of teachers. The study showed that such indicators as «regulation of the spheres of professional activity», «remuneration», «working conditions» have a negative impact on the quality of working life.

The following indicators positively affect the quality of the working life of teachers: «management of the organization», «job satisfaction», «opportunities for development and self-improvement», «labor assessment» and «social guarantees». The study showed that the quality of working life in the organization of higher education is at a fairly high level.

To improve the quality of working life in the system of higher education in the city of Novosibirsk, it is important to strengthen the level of regulation of professional activities. In improving working conditions, it is important to pay more attention to the condition of machinery and equipment, as well as the sufficiency of resources necessary to perform professional functions.
