Abstract. The article is devoted to the analysis of the lexico-semantic field of the legal term «juez» in Spanish. The article considers its etymological origin, associated with the Latin word iudex, and the ways of evolution within the Spanish language. The author explores the main lexical and semantic features of the term, emphasizing its legal meaning and its wider use in metaphorical and cultural contexts. Particular attention is paid to the functional and gender aspects of the word, including the use of the feminine form jueza, which reflects contemporary social changes and gender equality in the legal sphere. The article presents examples of stable word combinations with the term juez, such as juez de paz (justice of the peace), juez imparcial (impartial judge), juez de instrucción (preliminary investigation judge), and juez de la vida (judge of life), which demonstrate the diversity of its use in professional and everyday speech. The author identifies key classification groups of word combinations reflecting not only legal functions, but also moral qualities and cultural symbols associated with the figure of a judge. The article emphasizes the significance of the term juez as an element of the Spanish legal language and its role in shaping the public perception of fairness and justice and discusses the influence of this term on the lexico-semantic system of the Spanish language, including its adaptation in different regional variants of Spanish.
