Abstract. The article devoted to the analysis of trust as a resource of interethnic integration presents the results of sociological reseach conducted in the Republic of Buryatiya in 2018–2019 (mass-survey-questionnaire 900 people and in-depth interviews-24 people). It is determined that in complex crisis conditions, the level of generalized trust is slightly lower than the level of distrust, which correlates with the data of all-Russian research. To a greater extent, respondents trust their family, relatives and friends, to a lesser extent – colleagues, neighbors and representatives of their own nationality. The rating of the basis of trust is revealed depending on the socio-demographic characteristics of respondents (gender, age, education, nationality), among which individual qualities of the individual dominate, while legal and regulatory values are in the last place. The conclusion is substantiated on the significant resource of interethnic consent in the region and the possibilities of its preservation in the republic. The results of the research indicate positive assessments of interethnic relations. For the majority of respondents, interethnic consent is based on mutual respect for a person, regardless of nationality. The basis of interethnic consent should be considered generalized, interpersonal and institutional trust, which, as an element of social capital, is aimed at achieving social and interethnic consolidation. However, ensuring the growth of trust, preserving interethnic consent and ethnic and cultural diversity largely depends on the effectiveness of public administration in implementing national policies in the region, aimed not only at maintaining the stability of interethnic relations, but also at improving the socio-economic situation of all ethnic groups in the republic.
