Abstract. The article presents a review of modern domestic and foreign studies of the means of creating the image of «Vrag/Enemy» in media communication. A large number of studies show that in the media environment there is a sufficient number of tools to manipulate public consciousness in the representation of this phenomenon. The effectiveness of manipulating public opinion with the help of language influence means not only in the official media, but also in social networks has been well-founded. The recipient of information, leaving any comments (whether positive or negative) under a news article, causes a flurry of emotions, which only intensifies the conflict and confrontation.

The author has considered the concept of information warfare and characteristic features of the use of information warfare tools in media communications, which entail a paradigm shift in the formation of subjective and public opinion, the powerful impact of which we could not even talk about several decades ago.

The present study mentions the means of conducting any information conflict: psychological and software, with the former becoming more and more numerous every year; they either strengthen the recipient’s position that his or her perceptions of the world are right, or change a person’s worldview and make him or her think about what is true and what is false.

The author analyzed the types of media text frames: (1) conflict, (2) negativity, (3) influence, (4) responsibility, (5) human interests, (6) comments from official representatives, (7) innovation, (8) morality — used to represent the pragmatic content of the phenomenon «Vrag/Enemy» according to the results of modern foreign studies.

It is obvious that information is collected and presented to the recipient in a certain angle, manipulating consciousness and changing the established view of the world.
