Abstract. The article examines the problem of the spread of obscene vocabulary in Russia and the danger of this phenomenon in relation to the spiritual, moral and physical health of a person.

The author attempts to create a typology of the risks of large-scale dissemination of obscene vocabulary in modern Russian society, especially since, according to the results of sociological research in 2020–2025, this speech practice is actively supported among adolescents and youth, penetrating into the space of schools and universities.

Based on the analysis and systematization of factors supporting a steady trend towards the spread of linguistic obscenity, the author has developed the first typology of the consequences of the pandemic of profanity, published in No. 3 for 2023 in the journal «World of Science. Sociology, philology, cultural studies».

Due to the lack of significant changes in the field of linguistic ecology for the purpose of real opposition to processes that reduce the level of speech and communicative culture, as well as in order to draw public attention to the crisis state of the national language, the author considered it necessary to return to this problem. As a result of rethinking the latest scientific publications of all those who are not indifferent to the state of their native language, the author expands the previously created typology, thus joining the opinion of a number of philologists that it is possible to make the preservation of the Russian language part of the national idea. In addition to the above, the article analyzes ways to save the national language that can slow down the massive degradation of speech behavior of the population.

Keywords: spiritual trouble; culture of speech; causes and factors of profanity; verbal aggression; profanity; successful communication; ecology of language
