The influence of Islam on the culture and traditions of the peoples of Russia

Abstract. The article discusses the role and influence of Islam on the culture and traditions of the peoples of Russia, provides a number of examples of how Islam has affected the life of residents of Tatarstan and the North Caucasus. The comparative analysis allowed us to identify the effect of territorial belonging on the spread of the religion of Islam and its practices among the various peoples of Russia. In the history of the state historically there was a mixture of religions, cultures, traditions and customs of different peoples. The religion of Islam is reflected in the traditions and culture of Muslim peoples, but it is worth noting that depending on the territory of residence they are transformed, which leads to the presence of special, national rites and traditions of Muslims living in the United state of Russia. These features include differences in everyday life, language, national costumes, national holidays and others. In the religion of Islam, morality stands above aesthetic principles, but the connection between them is recognized. The article also discusses such a concept as adat, its features and place in the life of the North Caucasian peoples. In conclusion, it is concluded that Islam has brought to the culture of the modern Russian people and the country as a whole.
