The linguistic embodiment of the philosophy of life in the poetry of Z. Hippius

Abstract. The article describes the dominant idiosyncrasies of Z. Hippius. Lexical and syntactic features of Z. Hippius’ poetic texts are revealed. The interrelation of the poet’s creativity and life is revealed. Z. Hippius is not only a bright representative of symbolism, but also the ideological inspirer of a new philosophical concept — the New Church. She expresses her postulates in clear poetic formulas. The spectrum of her reflections includes love, life, death, human relationships, historical changes, religion, which in the triumph of the author acquire their special meaning. His understanding of the surrounding reality Z. Hippius conveys with the help of vivid images, the specifics of the selection of linguistic units, the selection of syntactic constructions and punctuation marks. The author’s special philosophical position is manifested both in the content and at various linguistic levels. The relevance of the study is due to the interest of linguists in the study of idiostyle over the past decades. The individual style is closely related to the author’s position, characterized by the specifics of the selection and the ways of combining and interacting linguistic units to implement the author’s idea. The fixation and systematization of language material, which allows to identify the distinctive features of the author’s work, also helps to identify certain trends in the development of language (the activity of derivational models, the development of the word-formation system, the frequency of use of a particular layer of vocabulary, the specifics of the choice of syntactic unit). The study was carried out on the material of seven collections of poems and songs by Z. Hippius: «Collection of poems. 1889–1903», «Collection of poems. The second book. 1903–1909», «The last poems. 1914–1918», «Radiance», «Poems. diary. 1911–1921», «Poems not included in the author’s collections», «Hiking songs».
