Abstract. The scientific problem of the study lies in the declarative nature of the effect of introducing a digital athlete profile in the field of physical culture and sports.

The relevance of the study is the need to identify not a declarative level and quality, but the actual degree of digitalization in the field of physical culture and sports, as well as the main points that impede the dynamic development of this process in the field.

The purpose of the article is a sociological analysis of the digital profile of an athlete as a tool to increase the effectiveness of sports training in the field of the social institute of sports of the highest achievements.

Organization and empirical basis of the study:

• platform «My sport»;
• studies of the Russian State University of Physical Culture and Sports (Moscow), the Center for Sports Technologies Moskomsport, in particular, when organizing and conducting an experiment on organizing and conducting a comprehensive testing program at the stage of early selection for sports.

Conclusions:

• digitalization of sports and the formation of a digital profile is not so much a technological trend as an important sociocultural phenomenon of a significant, but still extremely poorly studied influence on traditional culture, social institutions, spheres of public life and man;
• speaking about the social consequences of digitalization, foreign and domestic professional scientists are more inclined to consider the problem of human deanthropolization and the problem of the entry of modern society into the period of singularity, when the introduction of qualitatively new technologies does not allow predicting and correctly assessing their social consequences;
• scientific analysis of digitalization processes in the field of physical culture and sports should be based not on formal reports with the results of measuring procedures, but on long-term programmatic experimental practice.
