Abstract. The article analyzes the practical aspects of the implementation of educational initiatives in the penitentiary system. A comparative analysis of the various experiences of organizing training in the prison system in different countries of the world shows the relevance of such studies. Education is not only an essential human right, but also a tool for correcting deviations. Imprisonment should not entail additional deprivation of civil rights, including the right to education. The study shows the importance and significance of the introduction of educational programs for the further socialization and adaptation of prisoners to society. The article focuses on the important social and economic impact of the implementation of educational initiatives among prisoners. The need for special training of teachers, teachers in prisons, who must have general knowledge in the field of correctional education, special education, as well as have specialization in at least several professional areas, is emphasized. Studies of various organizations allow us to conclude that the implementation of educational programs at various levels significantly reduces the potential for illegal acts, crime among prisoners in the future. An important conclusion is to identify the priority of discussing the problem of organizing the training of prisoners in prisons, the possibility of active socialization and rehabilitation of prisoners to the conditions of a free society.
