Abstract. Thanks to the axiological approach, in which traditional folk culture acts as a set of material and spiritual values, as a system of significant ideals and meanings for a person, the author analyzes the influence of attitudes to human nature on artistic techniques and forms of folk crafts in Russia. The article considers images of Zhostovsky, Gorodetsky, Khokhloma paintings, and some old Russian images and ornaments, traces the connection of such images with nature, analyzes the attitude to nature of ancient masters who laid the foundations of these techniques and styles.

This analysis in the modern context can serve as a potential basis for the formation of ecological culture. The author also focuses on the ecology of culture, which contributes to the preservation of cultural values and spiritual development of a person, without which it is impossible to find ways to form a new ecological culture.

The results of this research study can be applied in practice in the education system, as well as in the tourism industry, contributing to the formation of an ecological culture of the population.
