Abstract. The article deals with the linguistic aspect as one of the components of the rhetorical arts. It is extremely important for future rhetoricians to possess diction, competent speech, correct pronunciation. The classical rules of ancient rhetoric are successfully combined with modern communicative techniques and strategies. Successful rhetorical speech largely depends on the speech activity of the speaker, the correct use of prosodic means during the preparing of the speech, professional voice skills. Good diction occurs due to the correct articulation of speech sounds which is achieved through numerous training sessions and self-control. The article lists a number of techniques necessary for achieving correct pronunciation in a foreign language as foreign researchers believe. The authors of the article consider it necessary to illustrate some of the methods for mastering proper diction, to mention some recommendations of foreign linguists for working on pronunciation in an adult audience. Today there are a lot of different techniques and ways which are aimed at making successful and effective rhetorical communication between conversationalists. As foreign specialists consider it is important to achieve two aims for mastering rhetorical arts: the speaker needs to learn to speak convincingly himself, he must be able to analyze the speeches of others, as well. Presentations and recitation of texts reveal the whole phenomenon of sound within the framework of rhetoric. During the perception of oral texts listeners process information both in the form of external sound signals and in the form of prosodic and articulatory signs which are usually denoted whithin the framework of rhetorical arts as rhetorical means or linguistic means of speech design.
