Abstract. Digitalization is an important process that affects all aspects of society and contributes to the development of various sectors of the economy.

An analysis of domestic and foreign literature in this area made it possible to consider the essence of digitalization.

The authors of the paper presented the results of their own sociological study of the attitude of the population towards digitalization. This study was conducted by the method of a questionnaire survey of residents of the cities: Rubtsovsk, Barnaul, Biysk, Voronezh, Yekaterinburg, Iskitim and rural settlements of the Altai Territory: with. Uglovskoye Uglovsky district, Mirny settlement of the Rodinsky district, with. Sleeveless jacket of the Rubtsovsky district, with. Rockets of the Mikhailovsky district, with. Tishinka, Rubtsovsky district, Gornyak settlement, Loktevsky district, with. Volchikha of the Volchikhinsky district, Ozimaya Station of the Pospelikhinsky district, with. Pavlovsk, Pavlovsky district) aged 17 to 75 years (n = 154).

Empirical data was processed using the method of frequency analysis and by analyzing significant statements regarding various aspects of the population’s attitude to digitalization. Based on the model, variables tested for meaningful statements were created using SPSS 20.0. multiple logistic regression models.

As a result of the survey of the population, data were obtained on the availability and features of the use of the Internet by the population at home, digital skills, and the attitude of the population towards digitalization and robotization. Significant statements regarding the digitalization of various groups of the population according to socio-demographic characteristics participating in the survey were identified.

At the end of the article, the authors summarize the analysis of significant statements regarding digitalization and determine the need to study the opinions of citizens on the problems of digitalization.
