Abstract. The article is devoted to the debatable issue of the structure of the regiolect in general, and the Kolyma regiolect in particular. The purpose of the study was to deepen scientific understanding of the components of the lexical-semantic level of a regionally marked variety of the Russian language. The novelty of the work lies in the systematization of scientific views on the typology of the territorially localized vocabulary of the Russian language and the presentation of the classification of localisms on the example of the Kolyma regiolect. Generalization and systematization of scientific literature on this issue, observation of the speech of Kolyma residents, experimental methods (interviewing and questioning), as well as analysis of written sources were used as the leading research methods. The criteria underlying the typology of Kolyma regionalisms are proposed and substantiated: thematic, lexico-semantic, etymological, functional, as well as the attitude towards active and passive vocabulary. The result of the work was a classification of regionalisms functioning in the Far North-East of Russia, authentic examples are given for each selected group. The article also outlines the prospects for further development of the topic, which consist in deepening and expanding the typology of regional vocabulary based on large-scale studies of both the live speech of regiolect speakers and diverse written texts.
