Abstract. The authors used methods of descriptive analysis, component analysis and analysis of semantic deployment of definitions of the studied concept in the analysis of linguistic material. The aim of the work is a comparative analysis of the linguocultural concept Boomerang Kid in the English and Russian linguistic world view. The authors describe the theoretical aspects of the concept, the linguocultural concept, as well as the linguistic world view. The article emphasizes that the concept of Boomerang Kid originally appeared in the American world view due to certain factors associated with modern realities such as the economic situation in the world and the infantilization of society. The analysis of the English language corpus revealed that the Boomerang Kid concept is often found in a socio-economic context in the information environment and has a negative emotional impact. But due to various changes in all spheres of life of people there is a positive trend in relation to this phenomenon in English and Russian linguistic world view. In the English linguistic world view this concept got its own name, without changing the main meaning. In the Russian language, this concept appeared due to the globalization process. The authors believe that the Boomerang Kid concept is the result of a special way of perceiving the world, dictated by sociocultural tendencies. The study found out that in the above-mentioned linguistic world view the linguocultural concept Boomerang Kid has a negative connotation. The national cultural specificity of the linguocultural concept in the English linguistic world view is due to the national mentality. However, in the Russian linguistic world view, this concept does not have a wide representation due to the cultural traditions and character of the people. This article can be useful to specialists in the field of linguistics, stylistics and cultural studies.
