The plot transformations about Cinderella in the texts of Russian entertainment Internet discourse: gender aspect

Abstract. TThe article analyzes the semantic and value transformations of the classic fairy tale story about Cinderella, observed in the actual verbal and creolized texts of the Runet entertainment discourse: historiettes, jokes, socialmedia statuses, motifake, memes. These anonymous versatile speech products are considered as examples of «naive» gender studies, which are a valuable source of information about the spontaneous ideas of Russian-speaking users about the current gender order and are an integral part of the Russian gender Internet discourse. The last one is defined by the author as an expanding set of Internet texts that are different in nature, structural organization, specifics of linguo-stylistic design and genre parameters, which are characterized by gender themes and issues, the presence of implicit gender-significant meanings and the presence of their own semantic dominants, values and anti-values. It is established that the name of the main character of the fairy tale is an ordinary connotative literary anthroponym and plays a key role in organizing the semantic space of entertaining Internet texts. The quantitative analysis results show that 75 % of the identified texts about Cinderella contain explicit gender meanings, represent typified images of femininity and masculinity, and also represent marriage and romantic relationships as anti-values. It is established that in 93 % of all gender-sensitive Internet texts about Cinderella there is a pronounced nagative assessment: in 126 units (57 %) — a generalized feminine image; in 58 (26.2 %) — masculine; in 29 (13.1 %) — marriage (romantic relationships), while in some contexts both marriage as a social institution and one of the gender categories are negatively assessed at the same time. A migratory fairy tale subject fairy tale, its key images and motifs, as well as the axiologems contained in it, become the object of banter from anonymous users and are subjected to carnival rethinking. The author shows that in the semantic space of modern Russian cyber folklore texts, significant components of the classical source undergo grotesque transformations that contribute to the deaxiologization of such concepts as «Love» and «Marriage», as well as the creation of negative generalized images of femininity and masculinity.

Keywords: gender Internet discourse; gender picture of the world; femininity; masculinity; banter
