Abstract. The article describes the key concept of snow in the Even linguistic picture of the world, which had not been considered previously in the works of researchers. The concept of snow, being a component of the macro concept, winter is the undoubted dominant of the winter season, which dominates in the Far North for the longest period of the year. The conceptual universals building this concept in the linguistic consciousness of the Evens made it possible to determine the conceptual and cognitive features of the concept. The main representative of the concept snow in the Even language with the definition `snow` is the lexical unit imanra and its phonetic variants identified in dialects and dialects — imanda~imondo, imanna, imsa, derivatives of the verb stem iman- `to snow down`. Correlations of the lexeme Imanra with the same definition were found in all languages of the Tungus-Manchu group. As a result of the study of conceptual features of the concept in the linguoculture of the Evens, more than 50 nominations of snow were found, differentiating in the language according to various characteristics: by density, by melting time, by cover thickness, by shape, by size. According to research in other languages of the peoples of Siberia, a significant number of lexemes that verbalize snow have also been recorded, which indicates the universality of the concept in the national linguistic picture of the world of these peoples. The methods of linguoculturological analysis used in the work made it possible to determine the main cognitive features of the concept of snow in the mental world of an ethnos. In the structure of the figurative features of the concept, subject, anthropomorphic, colorative, zoomorphic, structural features and vital features expressed in the form of conceptual metaphorical expressions, paremias are revealed.
