Abstract. This work continues the analysis of pronouns in the Kazym dialect of the Khanty language using the fairy tale «Kúśarleӈki» (‘Little Chipmunk’) as an example. The study covers the grammatical characteristics and functional features of personal, demonstrative, interrogative, and indefinite pronouns.
The aim of the work is to describe the morphological categories and functions of pronouns in the Khanty language, identifying their peculiarities based on folklore text material.
The main method of analysis is the method of continuous sampling of material from the fairy tale text. During the research, 20 pronoun lexemes in 19 sentences of the text were analyzed. The examined examples confirm that pronouns in the Khanty language possess categories of number, possessiveness, and case. Special attention is paid to the declension paradigm of personal pronouns, as the text reveals atypical use of the accusative case for the Kazym dialect. The formal indicators of interrogative, indefinite, and demonstrative pronouns do not contradict the data of the studied dialect.
The scientific novelty of the research lies in the systematization of data on the morphological features of pronouns in the Kazym dialect based on folklore text material, incorporating field data. These data are also compared with examples from other folklore sources.
The practical significance of the work lies in the possibility of using the obtained results in compiling a grammar of the Khanty language and in its teaching practice. The research materials can be useful for further study of the Ob-Ugric languages and their dialects, preserving the linguistic heritage of the indigenous peoples of the North, and in comparative studies of related and diverse-structured languages.
