The purpose of the study is to identify problems and assess the prospects for the scientific development of profile-applied sociology of physical culture and sports in the context of the achievements of world theoretical and empirical sociology and the challenges of the modern information society; — the scientific hypothesis was a reasonable assumption about the mythological and utopian nature of many key social ideas cultivated in the field of sports science and practice, which do njot pass the test of reliability as a result of a particular CSI.
Conclusions: based on the content presented below, the following conclusions can be drawn: as real steps of merging or integrating sociology and applied sociology of FCiS, the establishment of a domestic association of sociology of FCiS, a specialized applied research institute (or center) of specific sociological research in the field of FCiS, a scientific journal on sociology of FCiS should be recommended.
