Abstract. Introduction. The purpose of this article is to study the main culturological approaches to cultural diffusions as a process of development, to identify current trends in the study of cultural diffusions in the context of jewelry art. Diffusion should be considered one of the most important mechanisms of culture. It is an objective regularity.

Methods. The methodological basis of the research is the principle of an integrated approach.

The author analyzed the motives and functions of jewelry, the systematization carried out allows us to determine the place of jewelry in intercultural interactions on the example of ancient Asian cultures (Tibet, Mongolia, Small peoples of China), which have significant both material and spiritual heritage and show signs of cultural diffusion, permeability. This civilizational community is imbued with a large amount of influences, these influences have their own patterns: directions and rhythms. The traditional jewelry art of this region demonstrates a variety of technologies and materials with their stylistic continuity, common cultural roots.

Results. The author concerns the question of the origin of jewelry, which most likely arose simultaneously with the appearance of clothing, costume complex; are an integral part of human civilization, and undoubtedly had a huge impact on its evolution. The article reveals the role and place of cultural diffusions in jewelry art; reveals current trends in jewelry art as a marker of diffusions and mutual penetration of cultural forms.

Discussion. The author has introduced into scientific circulation materials on jewelry art as a marker of cultural diffusion, this problem is considered in a new perspective, which makes it possible to expand and deepen existing cultural knowledge.

Final report. Jewelry art for the first time becomes the object of cultural research, which is relevant. In addition, the author reveals the role and place of cultural diffusions in jewelry art; identifies current trends and reference scientific and historical points in relation to jewelry art as a marker of diffusion; establishes the presence of correlations of technical and technological borrowing with diffuse cultural processes. Jewelry art is of undoubted interest for further cultural studies.
