Abstract. The article is devoted to the participation of the older generation in social projects in Russian small territories. It provides an overview of statistical data demonstrating the social problems and security risks of older people. The analysis of the concept of the «older generation» is carried out, which is based on the sign of age and the aging processes of the population. The concept of generation unites people of a similar age, formed in certain socio-historical conditions, with their own values and lifestyle. The analysis of the national system, which includes strategies, national projects and movements in the interests of the older generation, is carried out. The conclusion is made about the connection of the current national strategy in the interests of older citizens with strategic international documents. The concept of active longevity is considered. The article presents data from a sociological study on the issues of studying the participation of the older generation in social projects in Russian small territories. As part of the study, at the first stage in 2024, informal semi-structured interviews (N = 32) were conducted with representatives of non-profit organizations and government authorities in six municipal districts of the Perm Region. At the second stage, in 2025, a formalized apartment-by-apartment interview (N = 3 000) of adult residents of six small territories of the Perm Region was conducted. The main results are presented, among which the main current program «Active Longevity» is identified, within the framework of which social projects are being implemented in the interests of the older generation in small territories. The key public organization «Council of Veterans» has been identified, representing the interests of older people and organizing project activities. Conclusions are drawn about the predominance of women among the participants of older social projects. Patterns and connections of values of the older generation with participation in social projects are found.
