Abstract. The article considers Russian -Yakut and Yakut – Russian terminological dictionaries: “History”, “Social Studies”, “Linguistics”, “Management”, “Local Government”, “Office Work” published in 2013. The authors of dictionaries first of all drew attention to the possibility of semantic reinterpretation and terminologization of the actual Yakut words and phrases. In the process of systematization and unification of Yakut terms were used previously identified and creatively processed the most productive ways and means of their education. This is a selection of Yakut correspondences, i.e. equivalents, transliteration and descriptive method. Also, when compiling the dictionary, borrowings already mastered and actively existing in the Yakut language are used. There are synonymous series consisting of original and fully adapted borrowings in the dictionaries. The method of linguistic synonymy is characteristic of the initial stage of the terminological process. Variants of the same term can coexist until social development and the language situation make their own adjustments. A feature of the proposed “dictionaries” is that many recommended terms of active use are presented in it in a phonetic spelling. The descriptive method is used in cases where it is impossible to choose the appropriate equivalent, and transliteration cannot be used. The main criterion for selecting a vocabulary is the principle of relevance. Terms to which it was not possible to find semantic correspondences, as well as to use the method of transliteration and semantic description for them, remained in the original Russian version and were not included in the dictionaries. Terminological work in the Yakut language is primarily based on translation practice from Russian into Yakut.
