Abstract. The article provides a brief analysis of the concept of “socialization”, taking into account the identification of hidden problems of the process of socialization of youth, which, in turn, allow us to describe the phenomenon of personification of sociocultural norms in the process of socialization of youth, as well as to substantiate the conclusion that what happens in the process of socialization in the family not only the assimilation by the individual of these sociocultural norms, but also the leveling of his individuality: the values and norms that the individual finds ready-made in the family, assimilates them, far from always fully coincides They give to those in society.
Socialization is the dissolution of the individual in the system of social norms and rules objectively existing in society. This is a struggle of opposites: on the one hand, a society with its own norms, rules, requirements for a person; on the other, a person with his own psychophysiological characteristics, with a specific system of thinking and world perception in the system of valuesthat he assimilates as primary.
The article also shows the unevenness of the process of socialization on different vectors of youth life – coinciding in time, the processes of socialization in the family and at school, in formal and informal youth groups and associations proceed with different intensities and depths. For example, socialization at the family and school level, the development of socio-cultural norms and rules can proceed successfully, but professional socialization can be inhibited.
