Painting as a factor in the formation of the cultural landscape of the city (on the example of painting in Barnaul)

Abstract. The specifics of modern approaches to the analysis of world phenomena require understanding them as texts perceived by means of different, equivalent linguistic and logical systems. Human inhabited territories (cities) are the place of concentration (compaction, layering) of such texts, which makes the study of obtained cultural landscapes in demand. Works of art, which are the attributes of the cultural landscape in its associative part, are investigated in the thesis and presented in the article as the phenomena, capable of fixing and forming a specific synaesthetic associativity of the urban territory. Taking this into account, in the typology of cultural landscapes the author singled out art-associative landscape, in which the role of a cultural text is played by a work of art. Works of art, in one way or another associated with the city, are organized into a system of arts, the properties of the elements of which form the cultural landscape of the city in a specific way, giving it dynamic characteristics. Among a number of these elements, painting is defined by the author as a generic phenomenon for the detection of musicality, which is recognized as a universal property of the artwork. In addition, the article outlines the reasons that allow to treat painting as the basis for the formation of artistic and associative landscape of the city, to allocate it as a significant element of the presented system of arts.
«Spiritual load» of the city landscape, obtained as a result of interpretation, reflecting it, works of art, significantly enriches more stable in time (as a rule, natural) components. The perception of the territory of the city, the cultural landscape of which is formed in such a way, maximally activates the position of the recipient, increasing the importance of his education, upbringing, and regional identity. Popularization of the «spiritual load» of landscapes contributes to their preservation, development and confrontation with the overly materialized, modern reality.
