Abstract. The purpose of this article is to examine one of the most specific features of Russian philosophy – anthropocentrism. The author emphasizes that the tendency of Russian philosophy is the comprehension of man as the focus of creation, integrating everything that is inherently connected with the Creator. The meaning of the anthropology of Russian philosophy is to recognize the special importance of the essence of man, which was formed for creation, constructive transformation of the reality. The author describes a striking feature of anthropological views in Russian philosophy – the idea of man as a universal being, revealing a common human principle. The article emphasizes that Russian anthropological teachings are distinguished by the presence of two antinomic systems: the orthodox view of the essence of man in his continuity with God and ideas borrowed from Western science and philosophy. The article focuses on the fact that researchers consider the recognition of the unconditional value of a person, his spiritual life, regardless of his national, class, etc., to be a unique feature of the anthropocentrism of Russian philosophy, affiliation and independence of absolute values (truth, justice, goodness, beauty, etc.) from time and culture. The author presents the Russian philosophy’s awareness of the fact that man and society are equal; that a person eradicates his depravity through moral self-education and creativity; and human freedom is his spiritual independence. The article concludes that in the national self-consciousness and Russian philosophical thought, anthropocentrism has developed as the semantic axis that persists in the national worldview in the long-term historical perspective.

Keywords: anthropocentrism; Russian national self-conscience; anthropology of total-unity; «all-humanity»; Russian religious philosophy; unity of rational and spiritual; idea of God-manhood
