Institute of youth volunteering as a socio-cultural phenomenon

Abstract. The author considers the phenomenon of social and cultural development of Russia at the present stage-the Institute of youth volunteering. Such concepts as volunteering, volunteer activity are investigated and the author’s definition «youth volunteering» is given, the directions of volunteer activity are listed.
The article notes that for the effective formation and development of the Institute of youth volunteering, there are a number of conditions: the presence of like-minded people; the presence of Central and regional volunteer headquarters; the theoretical and methodological basis of youth volunteering; the presence of developed recommendations for the implementation of volunteer activities, including materials on the motivation and stimulation of young people to volunteer activities, including a description of pedagogical and socio-cultural means, forms and methods for the implementation of youth volunteering. The article presents examples of the implementation of socio-cultural projects of volunteer orientation.
The author concludes that the experience of volunteering is a sign of cultural education, a high level of education, in some cases, is an example of social success of modern youth. In order to increase the importance of the Institute of youth volunteerism in the socio-cultural sphere, it is necessary to draw public attention to this phenomenon more dynamically.
