Abstract. In this article, the author considers the vocabulary of fishing borrowed from the Russian language in the dialects of the Yakut language. To the present day, the topic of fishing has not been subjected to a special separate study either at the level of the literary Yakut language, or at the level of dialects. The aim of the article is to identify direct Russian borrowings in fishing vocabulary in the central, Olekmo-Vilyuy, northwestern and northeastern dialects of the Yakut language. The penetration of direct Russian borrowings into the Yakut language began in the first half of the 17th century, when Yakutia became the part of the Russian state. By the time the Russians arrived in the territory of modern Yakutia, the Yakuts mainly lived in Central Yakutia, the region between the rivers Lena and Aldan. This work presents the etymologically obvious facts of the borrowing of Russian words by the native Yakut dialects speakers. There were found 69 words (many of them with invariants), presented in the materials of the «Dialectological Dictionary of the Yakut Language» and «Dialectological Dictionary of the Sakha language». All identified words of the lexical-thematic group were divided into six subgroups: names of fish, names of tools of fishing, means of transport names for fishing, names of fish food, other words related to fishing vocabulary, names of sea animals adjacent to the names of fish. Discovered fishing words function in the central, Olekmo-Vilyuisky, northwestern and northeastern dialects of these dialect zones. The results of this work support the opinion of the famous specialist in Turkic philology N.K. Antonov that the names of fish penetrated mainly into the language of the Northern Yakuts with the development of fishing under the influence of the bulunsky, nizhne-yansky and kolymsky Russians settled there and the opinion of the Russian and Polish ethnographer V. Seroshevsky that the Yakut fishing was influenced mainly by Russians and Tungus, and that in the north, many fish are given Russian names.
