Abstract. The study is devoted to the comparative linguistic portraiture of the language personalities of the women-residents of the Ural province of the first half of the XX century on the basis of their epistolaries. The purpose of this article is to analyze the level of speech competencies and features of speech behavior of linguopersons (sisters Ziniada and Seraphim) to identify a set of qualities of language personalities. The relevance of the indicated approach is due, firstly, to the novelty of the speech material (introduced into scientific circulation for the first time), and secondly, to the insufficient study of the natural written speech of the carriers of everyday consciousness (especially women). The scientific significance of the study is determined by the need to clarify the methodology of linguopersonological portraiture, and the practical one is determined by the accumulation of experience of such descriptions. When studying the material, is used the method of linguopersonological analysis in a set of techniques that allow to establish the level of implementation of the primary and text-generating speech competencies of native speakers, their speech and general culture, as well as to identify a system of axiological priorities. The article presents comparative characteristics of two linguopersons who, being carriers of everyday consciousness, have both common and special features, which is found both in their speech skills and in a set of personal qualities. The result of the study was the reconstruction of portraits of the language personalities of Zinaida and Seraphim, accumulating all the information (both linguistic and event-based) extracted during the analysis of their epistolaries. The description taken can be considered as a step towards the actualization of gender studies based on the material of speech products of past eras. The applied significance of the results is due to the possibility of using them both as materials for further scientific research, and as a basis for expanding the factual base of linguopersonology and linguogenderology, as well as for all scientific branches that focus on man as a biopsychosocial phenomenon.
