Abstract. The article describes the concept of migration mobility. Migratory mobility is the state and ability of the individual to migrate, formed as a result of accumulated migration experience. It is known that it is possible to measure the migration mobility of not only a personality, but also a small and large group, as well as the population of a locality, region or country. As for Russia, in the 21st century a demographic situation has developed in which the urban population strongly prevails over rural, and every year the gap in the number of urban and rural population is increasing, including through migration movements. The migration situation is analyzed by us through the prism of Ravenstein’s migration laws. The analysis involves the data of WCIOM’s sociological research, which confirm and supplement the laws of migration, derived by the English demographer. In conclusion, hypotheses are put forward that can be used to construct future sociological research.
