Abstract. The article discusses the essence and specificity of the symbolic and semantic meaning of the purification ceremony — «the archy». The structural-functional, systemic, descriptive, semiotic, historical-comparative, hermeneutic methods, socio-cultural analysis, field material and author’s technology were used for the interpretation of this ceremony. The structure of ceremonial actions is considered in the context of the ritual and sacral practice of the Sakha people. The article presents the main attributes of “the archyhyt”, the characteristics and regional traditions of the purification rite, methods and methods of purification. The authors identified, structured and systematized the varieties of “the archy”: they are the expulsion of evil spirits, evil spirits from the human aura through fire, fumigation with smoke, purification with a splinter with a lightning particle, purification with a panicle — “deibir”, purification with a broom, rods, a branch of birch and aspen, purification by ringing a bell, purification with water, purification with khomus sounds, sound treatment, purification with a candle, purification with a shamanic whip — “djyalbyr”, purification by breathing, etc. The practical technology of production of author’s incense “Archy” is given. The authors intend to further promote technology of production incense “Archy” and monitor their impact on human’s health. The main meaning of the purification ceremony “the archy” is spiritual purification, strengthening of the human spirit. The rite of purification helps not only to get rid of bad energy and harmful spirits that fill the body, soul and mind, but also contributes to the implementation of plans and desires. The authors tested the results of the study in lectures and workshops on the purification rite and in republican scientific and practical conferences (2019, 2020, 2021). The obtained research results will help to preserve and revitalize the traditional value of ritual and sacral cleansing actions in the modern cultural space.
